DIY: Butterfly wings
It’s time to fly into the Jewish New Year!
It's fun to extend the theme of growing and changing for the Jewish New Year by helping your children make their own butterfly wings! (Read how butterflies can help children learn about Rosh Hashanah here).
We got creative with recycled paper grocery bags that have a handle, like the ones from Trader Joes or Whole Foods. After laying the bag on a flat surface and cutting out the shape of wings, we moved (and glued) the bag's handles to become secure straps. Next, children decorated their wings with stickers, crayons, markers, and tissue paper squares.
After decorating, it was time to fly! We love seeing the joy in the children’s faces as they soared into the New Year.
