We’re celebrating the month of Tevet and the arrival of the winter with a flurry of snowflakes - edible marshmallow snowflakes! In Hebrew, snowflakes is pronounced Ptitey sheleg, and they’re pretty magical because no two are ever the same. We recently baked a “patch” of gourd and pumpkin cookies to celebrate fall! They were so fun and festive, we decided to also use the cookies for pumpkin (and gourd) patch cupcakes! This is a simple (but oh so cute) activity with store bought cupcakes, dried fruit and nuts! It’s also a wonderful activity for littles to help with too. Come visit our pumpkin patch and make some fall cupcakes us!

DIY: Sukkot dessert table

DIY: Tabletop Sukkah

We’re bringing Sukkot and the fall harvest into our home by building a tabletop sukkah, draped in branches of tiny leaves and autumn flowers. It’s wonderful to experience building a sukkah, even if it’s small in size. For this project, you only need a few items - most found in nature. We show you all the steps in photos, so let’s go build a sukkah!

DIY: Graham cracker sukkah

Jewish people have been building sukkahs for a couple of thousand years - really! It is the perfect time of year to have a small backyard party- and this party is all for my love of the season of spring! We’re decorating flower containers, making pet butterfly rocks (complete with a little habitat) and snacking on dirt pies. I even have a sweet spring-themed storybook to read to the kiddos too. Come join me at my spring party!

Passover Round-up

It’s the Jewish holiday Passover! It comes during the Hebrew month of Nisan and the season of spring! DIY: Purim-themed lunchbox

“No Bake” Hamantaschen are the star of our Purim themed lunch! Since they’re as easy to make as a peanut butter sandwich, we thought it would be fun and festive to pack them in a lunchbox. We included a royal jewelled fruit kabob and Mordechai Munchies! The results were adorable and delicious!

DIY: Edible almond trees

Tu B’shevat comes just at the very beginning of spring in Israel. Fruit trees feel the arrival of spring before people. As their roots awaken, the trees begin to drink water hidden deep in the earth, causing sap to rise up and flowers to bloom.

DIY: Edible dreidel

One of our favorite Hanukkah traditions is to not only play the dreidel game, but to also make yummy edible dreidels! DIY: Edible turkey

We thought it would be fun to make our own edible baby turkey - in honor of our upcoming “Turkey Day,” (Thanksgiving) which will be celebrated later this month in the United States. This is very easy to make - even for young children.

We’re getting to celebrate Lag B’Omer with a delicious treat - s’more pops! They’re officially our favorite dessert to eat on a picnic or around a bonfire, and they’re simple enough for little to make too! Come make them with us!
